MSDC Launches Updated Website

Marshall, Mo., August 11, 2025–  The Marshall-Saline Development Corporation (MSDC) has launched their updated website at msdcmo.com. 


The updated website serves as a tool for residents, site selectors and developers to use as a look into Saline County economic development. The site introduces MSDC staff and board of directors, tells a little bit about Saline County, and allows visitors to view available commercial property located within the County. Additionally, you can read the latest MSDC news and contact staff members. 


“This has been an ongoing project, and we are excited to launch the updated site,” said MSDC Director Conner Swift. “We plan to make continual updates and improvements to the site in order to best serve the County in terms of economic development.”

Villa Community Housing Development Coming to Sweet Springs

Marshall, Mo., May 30, 2025– Sweet Springs Land Investments, developing for La Bella Vistas, has announced it will begin construction on a new Villa Community in Sweet Springs, Missouri this summer. 


Sweet Springs Land Investments is a property development company in West Central Missouri. The company, co-owned by Dr. John and Heidi Miles and Fielding and Darla Staton have housing, restaurant, and entertainment properties in Liberty, Carrollton, and Chillicothe.

The Sweet Springs Villa Community, which will be located on Pear Tree Drive, will feature at least 14 two and three bedroom villas, each complete with a heated and cooled garage, granite countertops, tiled showers and approximately 1,200 square feet of living space. The Villas will offer an all-inclusive lease package including lawn care, snow removal, landscaping, maintenance, and utilities.


Sweet Springs City Councilman Trey Schleicher said, “I can’t begin to thank Conner Swift and the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation enough for all their help in making this possible. Thank you to Tara Brewer, one of our hard working citizens, for her help on this project as well. Marshall-Saline Development Corporation Board of Directors Elects 2025 Officers

Marshall, Mo., March 21, 2025–The Marshall-Saline Development Corporation (MSDC) Board of Directors has elected officers for 2025. Officers were voted on at the February board meeting.


Elected officers include: Anmarie Gibson, President; Bud Summers, Vice President and Matt Huston, Secretary/Treasurer. Anmarie Gibson currently works for the City of Marshall as the Human Resources & Communications Director. Bud Summers currently works for Exchange Bank of Missouri as the Business Development Executive Officer. Matt Huston is the Senior Vice President of Wood & Huston Bank.


“I’m honored to step into the role of board president for MSDC,” Gibson said. “We have an incredible group of people—dedicated staff, a committed board, and community partners—who are all working toward the same goal: making a real difference for Saline County and its residents. At its core, economic development is about building connections that create real benefits for people, businesses, and the community as a whole. With that in mind, I’m looking forward to working alongside our staff, board, and local partners to keep our momentum going and make sure that MSDC is a trusted force for growth and progress.”


Elected officers serve in their respective roles for one year.

Swift Takes Over as Director of Marshall-Saline Development Corporation

Marshall, Mo., January 17, 2025–The Marshall-Saline Development Corporation (MSDC) Board of Directors has approved the promotion of Conner Swift to Director of the MSDC. Swift has been serving as the assistant director since August of 2024.


The Marshall-Saline Development Corporation is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the economic development of Marshall and Saline County. The MSDC works to retain jobs in Saline County, foster workforce for existing jobs, bring in new jobs and business, and serve as a resource for local businesses.


Past Marshall-Saline Development Corporation projects include partnering with the City of Slater to build homes for Northwest Community Services in order to retain jobs in Saline County, as well as partnering with the City of Marshall and ConAgra to utilize grant funding to improve infrastructure. Currently, the MSDC is working on a 99-child care facility in conjunction with the Salt Fork YMCA and establishing a small business incubator for Marshall/Saline County.

“I am excited to work with the MSDC Board and the communities of Saline County to boost economic development,” Swift said. “We have a lot of projects in the works that we think are going to be really good for the county and economic development.” 


Danielle Durham has been hired to assist Swift with MSDC marketing and outreach. Durham joins MSDC having more than 13 years of experience in marketing & public relations.
