About the MSDC

The Marshall-Saline Development Corporation (MSDC) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the economic development of Marshall and Saline County. The MSDC works to:

  • Retain jobs in Saline County
  • Foster workforce for existing jobs
  • Bring in new jobs and business
  • Serve as a resource for local businesses

Currently, the four main areas of focus of the MSDC are:

  • Childcare
  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Housing

Enhancing and expanding these areas will help build a strong and healthy labor basin to fill existing and new jobs within the county.

Our Mission

The mission of the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation is to enhance Saline County by strengthening existing industry and business, and by bringing in new commercial and industrial development into the county. 

Our Team

Our team is comprised of staff members that work collaboratively with the Board of Directors of Marshall-Saline Development Corporation. The Board is composed of 9 members. Seven represent qualifying entities who support MSDC in the amount of $10,000 or more, per year. The remaining two are "at-large" members who are elected by the seven qualifying entities. The Board holds its reorganization meeting in December each year

The MSDC Board meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7 a.m. at the MSDC offices. These meetings are open to the public.

Staff

Conner Swift, Director

Swift earned his bachelors degree in history from Missouri Valley College in 2015. He obtained his Master of Arts in Education from Lindenwood University in 2017. 

Swift currently serves as Director of the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation.

Prior to his role at the MSDC, Swift worked for 13 years in the Student Affairs Department at Missouri Valley College. He served in various roles including Director of Housing & Residence Life and Associate Dean of Students.

Danielle Durham, Asst. Director

Durham earned her bachelors degree in public relations from Missouri Valley College in 2008. She obtained her Master of Arts in Management from Lindenwood University in 2011. 

Durham currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation.

Prior to her role at the MSDC, Durham worked for 13 years in the Athletic and Marketing Departments at Missouri Valley College. She served in various roles including Sports Information Director & Director of Marketing & Communication.
